Small-scale fuel upgrader [SOU]
What: upgrading fuel on decentralised locations by desulfurization & extracting micro particles. The setup will only make use of local available molecules.
Business case: being able to use high standard engines in locations where fuel is of poor quality. Effects compared to business as usual, reduction in engine maintenance cost, reduction in environmental footprint and increased reliability.
Client: Dutch Ministry of Defence
Status: developing in DieselUp BV
Result: unit fitting in 20ft container to treat minimal 24 m3 per day for extraction of sulphur and solid particles up to 0,3 micrometer. Reduce the sulphur content to minimum 200 mg/kg, focus on 10 mg/kg. Effect on operation is reduction in sulphur emissions and focus on over 100% longer operation before maintenance interval.
